Potential Flu epidemic?
Having heard an interview recently on the BBC’s Today programme, I thought it worth drawing the points raised to the Lawdata membership. Professor Neil Ferguson who is one of the people who put the first lockdown together, said that due to the lockdown there were far fewer cases of flu last year, which means that the population will have fewer antibodies and therefore be less resistant to flu this year. Professor Ferguson suggests that we prepare ourselves for a potential flu epidemic.
Bear in mind this could impact on the already precarious shortage of drivers and thereby have a knock on effect on the car industry.
We suggest you encourage your staff to seek a flu vaccination. This may be taken care of, however, if a Covid 19 booster can be combined with a flu jab.
We live in hope.
